I’m the author of Ellie Booton’s Journals – novels for children. Ellie’s sandwiched between wholy unsuitable brothers. She lives at the coast where Grandma flexes diplomatic muscle, Mum is discreetly depressed, and Dad blusters his way through a maze of inadequacy. They are, I guess, a normalish family. It’s imperative that Ellie hones vital life skills before, frankly, everything gets a bit too much.
These books aren’t autobiographical. Ellie is funnier and smarter than I ever was as a kid.
I’m married, looking after my mum, loving family, friends, dogs and rescue chickens.
